New England remains in top spot, edging out KC by a few percent. Dallas edges out Atlanta for third, and Minnesota stays in the top five despite losing their starting QB. Rams and 49s stay near the bottom, even after an exciting Thursday night game in Week 3. Unfortunately for them from a power rankings POV, its just one game, and the “degree of difficulty” presented by their opponent was limited, so meaningful gains will not be made with a close game. For a quick detailed overview of the ratings and rankings, see table below. Full interactive rankings and ratings by week available here.
When we look at the relative strength of each team’s offence and defense visually, it becomes a lot easier to see which teams are strong or weak, and where (see table below). Teams like New Orleans and Atlanta track far into the “Lopsided Offensively” quadrant, while Baltimore and Carolina are squarely in the “Lopsided Defensively” quadrant.
